TARAZ. April 14, 2026 — The Zhambyl region is demonstrating steady growth in key economic indicators. Thanks to the implementation of large-scale investment projects and systematic support for the industrial sector, the region is strengthening its status as one of the country’s main industrial centers.

Investment Breakthrough
Currently, the region’s investment portfolio includes more than 60 major projects with a total funding volume of over 4 trillion tenge. Particular attention is being paid to the development of green energy and the chemical cluster. Construction of wind power plants continues in the Sarysu and Talas districts, which, once operational, will ensure energy independence for the southern regions.

According to the relevant department, the emphasis is shifting toward high-tech manufacturing. New enterprises in special economic zones are focused on the production of high-value-added products, from modern building materials to complex chemicals.

Modernization of Infrastructure and the Agricultural Sector
The rational use of water resources remains a priority. This year, the region has intensified work on:

Construction and reconstruction of 11 reservoirs;

Concreting irrigation canals to reduce water loss;

Subsidizing farmers implementing drip irrigation systems.

These measures have already increased the area of cultivated land and boosted the export potential of the local agricultural sector.

Social Development Vector
In parallel with economic growth, the region is implementing significant social initiatives. As part of the national “Comfortable School” project, new educational institutions equipped with the latest technology are being built.

“Our goal is not just dry GDP growth figures, but a real improvement in the quality of life for every resident of the region. This means modern schools within walking distance, high-quality roads, and accessible healthcare in every district,” the local administration emphasizes.

The gasification rate in populated areas approached 95% by the end of the first quarter of 2026, making it one of the best indicators in the country. A large-scale road repair campaign for regional and district-level roads is also ongoing, reaching even the most remote villages.

Prospects
In the coming months, several food production lines are planned to launch, creating over 500 new jobs and supplying the region’s domestic market with domestically produced products.
