Erbol Shyrakpaevich Karashukeev

Biography

Erbol Shyrakpaevich Karashukeev (Kazakh: Ербол Шырақбайұлы Қарашөкеев) was born on November 26, 1976, in the Alma-Ata region of the Kazakh SSR. He is a Kazakh statesman.

Education

1997 — Graduated from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with a Bachelor of Law degree.

1999 — Received a Master’s degree in Economics from the Institute of Economics and Law of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

Career

1998–1999 — Chief Specialist, Department of Analysis and Market Research, Agency of Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

1999–2001 — Consultant, Department of Socioeconomic Analysis, Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

2002–2003 — Financial Director, Director of the Aktobe branch, and Director of the Western Region of the Medicus Center JV LLP.

2003–2006 — Director of the Finance Department and Member of the Board of the State Insurance Corporation for Export Credit and Investment Insurance.

In subsequent years, he held leadership positions in public and private sector organizations.

Public Service

2021–2023 — Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In this position, he was responsible for food security, development of the agro-industrial complex, and support for farmers.

Since September 2023 — Akim of Zhambyl Region. Appointed by decree of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. His activities are focused on developing the region, improving infrastructure, and supporting agriculture.

Personal Life

Married, with two children.

Speaks Kazakh, Russian, and English.
